Fainting Goat  
  Here is another Fourteen Balls Automata designed and made by Matt Smith .
The fainting goat or Myotonic goat has a genetic defect that causes it to faint if startled . This goat has developed a taste for fire crackers with obvious consequenses .

The sequence is : The goat chews the firecrackers and after several turns there is a loud noise produced by a spring loaded bar ( for some reason you can't hear this on the video ) the goat faints but recovers soon after to resume his chewing .

The mechanism incorporates a 12 station geneva mechanism with other unusual mechanisms.
He is made from lime wood and box wood with the mechanism being made of brass and swiss pear amongst other odds and ends . The box is made from Douglas fir .
She is painted in Liquitex .
The dimensions are 120 mm x 75 mm x 320 mm high.
A first edition of 15 ( there may be a few more at a later date )
Once again these photos are of the prototype the finished version will be much better finished !
