IGNORANCE IS BLISS
This Ostrich is the latest edition from The Fourteen Balls Toy Co . Designed and made by Matt Smith .
The action can be seen in the videos , but basically the ostrich hides its head in the sand .
The automata is 140 mm x 80 mm x 320mm high and is made from a variety of materials including
Dogulas Fir , lime , maple , birch , brass , copper , silicone bronze , dynemma braid and delrin .
The automata is painted in liquitex paint after several coats of gesso .
Made entirely by hand by me in my workshop in Cornwall .
Each one will be slightly different as the cams have to be matched to each indivudial ostrich.

NB : This one is the prototype and has one or two defects that won't be in the finished versions .
