Designed and made by Matt Smith .
It's loosely based on Jacques Cousteau and the finished version may well look a bit
more like the man hinself .
( this is as usual the prototype and is a bit rough around the edges ).
He is all carved by hand and everything is produced by me in my workshop including all the gears .
The automata is made of Douglas fir , Lime wood , Birch , Maple , Brass , Stainless steel and the odd bit of bronze and delrin .
He is painted with several coats of Gesso and finished with Liquitex acrylic paint.
The size is 160mm x 80 mm x 220mm .
