The Barecat (an anagram of Cabaret ) .  Designed by Matt Smith and Paul Spooner .                Being the Cabaret Mechanical Theatres logo this is one of our most recognised automata and a great favourite.                                                                                                                            The little cat kicks his legs whilst the big cat winds the handle and pretends to be disinterested .  The little cat then points at the sky, the big cat  looks where the little cat points swivelling his eyes and tilting his head . Who is controlling who?                                                                               The model is 160mm x 60mm x 190mm high and made from Douglas fir beech and yew with various metals. to date I have made 161 the first being made in June 1987.
